Policies

We collect only the information needed to assess and fulfil your request: your name, contact details, trip details and, for self-drive, eligibility confirmations.

Your details are used to process the request, contact you about it and meet legal or insurance obligations. We do not sell personal data.

Records are retained for as long as needed for accounting and legal purposes, then deleted.

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data by emailing bookings@blackophir.com.

Rental terms

A booking request is an offer to hire. A hire agreement exists only once BlackOphir issues a written confirmation naming the vehicle, dates and rate.

Rates are quoted per day in US dollars with the Kenyan shilling equivalent shown alongside, and exclude fuel unless stated. Taxes and any refundable deposit are shown with your quote before confirmation.

Self-drive vehicles are released with a full tank and a documented condition report, and must be returned in the same condition, fair wear excepted.

Vehicles may not be used for racing, subletting, unlawful purposes, or driven by anyone not named on the agreement.

Cancellation and changes

Requests may be changed or withdrawn free of charge at any time before confirmation.

Confirmed bookings cancelled more than 48 hours before the start of hire are refunded in full where a deposit was paid.

Cancellations inside 48 hours may attract a charge equal to one day of hire, which is confirmed in writing before it is applied.

BlackOphir may cancel a confirmed booking where a vehicle becomes unroadworthy; we offer an equivalent vehicle or a full refund.
